Anita (Heinrich) Montgomery, age 74, (husband Roger) of Glencoe, Minnesota, formerly of Fairmont, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016, at Glencoe Regional Health Services in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 17, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment following at First Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2016, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota, and will continue one hour prior the service at the church on Thursday.
Obituary
Anita Ruth (Heinrich) Montgomery was born on September 15, 1942, in Fairmont, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Edgar and Ruth (Bremer) Heinrich. Anita was baptized as an infant on October 4, 1942, by Rev. J. F. Malkow and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth on March 25, 1956, by Rev. A. Cloeter both at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert, Minnesota. Her confirmation verse was 1 John 5:4, “For whatsoever is born of God over cometh the world; and this is the victory that over cometh the world, even our faith”. Anita received her education in Ceylon, Minnesota, graduating with the Ceylon High School Class of 1960.
On November 19, 1961, Anita was united in marriage to Roger Montgomery by Rev. A. Cloeter at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert, Minnesota. Anita and Roger made their home in Fairmont and Glencoe, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Keith, Curtis and Sharon. Anita and Roger shared almost 55 years of marriage.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Anita worked at Central Telephone Company in Fairmont, Minnesota, Farm Credit Services-Ag Star and Glencoe Regional Health Services both in Glencoe, Minnesota. Anita was an active member at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe since 1968, where she was a member of the church choir, altar guild, a church usher, a greeter, delivered bulletins to Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care, Orchard Estates and Grand Meadows and active in Common Cup Ministries. She also worked for the local blood drive.
Anita cherished the time spent with her family and friends. Her grandchildren were very special and she tried to attend many activities they were involved in. Anita enjoyed reading, walking, shopping, flowers, gardening, housework, holidays, Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins. She loved to travel and has visited every state but Oregon and spent the last 13 years in Florida during the winter.
Anita passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2016, at Glencoe Regional Health Services in Glencoe, Minnesota, at the age of 74 years, 1 month and 19 days. Blessed be her memory.

Brother-In-Law, Dennis Montgomery and his wife, Dorann, of Fairmont, MN;
Nieces, Nephews, Other relatives and many friends.
Anita is preceded in death by her Parents, Edgar and Ruth Heinrich; Sisters, Anna Marie Heinrich, Valera Heinrich; Father-In-Law and Mother-In-Law, Harvey and Ethel Montgomery.

Surprised by the timing, but not shocked. It is the way a lot of us older Heinrichs leave this earth. Anita and Roger were blessed with a long retirement and
she served the Lord proudly. She was always such a happy person and now she has earned eternal happiness.
