Arlys Davis

Obituary

Arlys Irene Davis was born on September 25, 1944, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She was the daughter of William and Helen (Rusch) Schultz. Arlys was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth both at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Acoma Township, McLeod County, Minnesota.  She received her education in Hutchinson, and was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School Class of 1962.

On February 7, 1965, Arlys was united in marriage to Robert “Sam” Oscar Davis at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Acoma Township. This marriage was blessed with 5 children, Marc, Mike, Paul, Steve, and Andrea. Arlys and Sam lived and raised their children in Hutchinson their entire life. Arlys and Sam shared 52 years of marriage.

She was employed with the Hutchinson Health Hospital for 30+ years.  She loved her job and enjoyed spending time and telling stories with the gals in the kitchen. Arlys was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Arlys was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and took pride in teaching her children and grandchildren the meaning of unconditional love.   She was a strong and independent woman who always put others needs first before her own and had a smile that could warm your heart.  Arlys enjoyed tending to her flower beds, feeding and watching the birds, and also enjoyed reading her prayer book and bible verses.  She especially treasured the time she spent with her family, grandchildren, great grandson and friends.

Arlys passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at the age of 73 years.  She will be dearly missed by many.  Blessed be her memory.

Arlys is preceded in death by her: Parents, William and Helen Schultz; Sister, Leola Schultz; Brother, Leroy Schultz; Father and Mother In-Law, Ray and Margaret Davis; Brothers In-Law, Donald Davis and Richard and Helen Davis.
