Arthur Bernard Friedrichs

Obituary

Arthur Bernard Friedrichs was born on August 14, 1929, in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.  He was the son of Roman and Johanna (Koch) Friedrichs.   Arthur was baptized as an infant, and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth. He received his education in Sauk Centre and Swanville, Minnesota. 

On September 12, 1953, Arthur was united in marriage to Lila Bruder.  They made their home in Long Prairie, Mound, and Hutchinson, Minnesota.  Lila and Arthur’s marriage was blessed with two children, Teresa and Rodney.  They shared over 62 years of marriage until Lila passed away on July 22, 2016.

Arthur held employment at a lumber yard in Lake Andes, South Dakota, and worked as a supervisor for job sites at Acton Construction in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  He retired in 1990. Arthur attended St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson.

Arthur enjoyed golfing, camping, fishing and traveling.  He also enjoyed woodworking.   Arthur especially enjoyed the time he spent with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Arthur passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at Fresenius Kidney Care in Hutchinson, Minnesota at the age of 86 years. 

“To all my friends and loving family, I say good-bye with thanks and thoughts of many blessings and few regrets.  Every one of you is a part of the spirit I am, and please hold me in your hearts without sadness.  I’ve asked my children to not have services; remember me by loving each other and appreciating the gift of life and the abilities you have.”

He will be dearly missed.

Arthur is preceded in death by his Parents, Roman and Johanna Friedrichs; Wife, Lila Bruder, Sister, Arlene Schmitt, Mardel Libbesmier; Brother, Richard Friedrichs and Lavern Friedrichs; Viola Bruder.
