Arthur “Art” Schulz, age 83, of Renville, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015, at his home.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 30, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church in Hector.
Military Honors will be provided by the Carl O. Potter American Legion Post #135.
Interment in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Brownton.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the United Methodist Church in Hector, and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Obituary
Arthur Harry Schulz was born February 4, 1931, in Round Grove Township, McLeod County, Minnesota, the son of Frank and Emma (Remus) Schulz. He was baptized at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton on March 8, 1931, and confirmed in his faith at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Fernando on April 14, 1946. Art grew up in Round Grove Township, and attended McLeod County schools until the 8th grade. Art served his country in the United States Army from January of 1953 to January of 1955. While in the Army, he served as a cook.
On November 23, 1950, Art was united in marriage to Elizabeth Jane Streich at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton. They shared 45 years of marriage when Elizabeth passed away in 1996. Through their years together, they lived in various places, including Hector, Danube, Fairfax, and Burnsville. On August 16, 1997, Art married Oradel (Paul) Kulberg at the United Methodist Church in Hector. They made their home in Renville, and had shared seven years of marriage when Oradel passed away in 2004. Art continued living in Renville.
Art was a Police Officer during the time he lived in Fairfax. While in Burnsville, he worked as an x-ray technician in a Foundry. He retired in the early 1990s. After Art retired, he worked at the hardware and grocery stores in Renville.
Art was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hector. He enjoyed a variety of special interests, including John Deere tractors, Ford pickups, and old cars. He liked woodworking, tinkering, tools, and gardening. He enjoyed camping, and spending the winters in Arizona. Art was very charming, and made many friends while socializing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends.
On Sunday, January 25, 2015, Art passed away at his home in Renville, having reached the age of 83 years. Blessed be his memory.

Pamela Newhouse and her significant other Kent Loose of Le Sueur,
Kimberly Pelkey and her husband Craig of East Bethel,
Karla Schulz of Minneapolis, and
Brenda Samuels of Hugo;
Grandchildren: Melissa Hill (Brad), April Newhouse, Jacob Schulz Cody Koenig, David Koenig, Tiffany Schulz, Kassondra Cline (Kyle), MaKayla Samuels, Hunter Samuels;
5 Great-grandchildren;
Siblings: Vernon Schulz of Green Isle, Walter Schultz and his wife Jan of Iowa,
Donald Schulz and his wife Jeanette of Wisconsin, and Deloris Boehlert
and her husband Dennis of Coon Rapids;
Nieces, Nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Art was preceded in death by his parents, wife Elizabeth, wife Oradel, and by his grandson Zachary Samuels.
