Service Information
Arvin Buss, age 76, of Stewart, passed away Monday, January 25, 2016, at his home.
Memorial Service will be held Sunday, February 7, 2016, at 2:00 P.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stewart.
Fellowship gathering will be held for one hour prior to the Service, from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 7, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stewart.
Lunch will follow the Service in the Church Basement.
Memorials are preferred to: L.L.S. Senior Dining in Stewart, the Stewart Fire Department, Feeding Children / Food for Kidz in Stewart, and the BLHS Sports programs.
Obituary
Arvin Warren Buss was born September 15, 1939, on the home place in Collins Township, McLeod County, Minnesota, the son of Arthur and Frieda (Braun) Buss. He was baptized on September 24, 1939, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stewart, and confirmed there in May of 1953. Arvin grew up in Collins Township, and attended school in Stewart. During his school years, Arvin participated in sports. He was a great athlete, and was known to break and hold track records. After graduation from the Stewart High School on May 28, 1957, Arvin left for Basic Training, and served in the United States Army Reserves.
Arvin returned home to farm with his father. He eventually took over the farming and dairy operation. For a time Arvin also worked with the railroad. He was currently retired.
Arvin loved watching sports, and was an avid supporter of his nieces and nephews while they participated in their high school events. He also liked ‘people watching’ at local establishments.
Arvin passed away at his home on Monday, January 25, 2016, having reached the age of 76 years. Blessed be his memory.
Arvin is survived by his sister-in-law, one nephew, two nieces, two great-nephews, and four great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Willis A. Buss.
