Obituary
Audrey Patricia (Heike) Lankey was born on June 26, 1947, in Willmar, Minnesota, the oldest daughter of William and Beatrice (Balke) Heike. Audrey was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed at Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar. She was a graduate of the Willmar High School Class of 1965.
Audrey married her high school sweetheart and was blessed with three children, Michelle, Aaron, David and spent the initial years of her parenthood taking care of everyone as a stay-at-home mom.
During Audrey’s career as an Office Administrator/Executive Admin, she worked at NCR Comten, McGladrey & Pullen and retired from Old Republic National Title Insurance Company in Minneapolis in 2013. She was known as a great organizer to get the office staff together and keeping her Executives on task. Soon after her retirement, Audrey moved to Hutchinson to begin her next chapter as a retiree.
Audrey was a member of CrossPoint Church in Hutchinson. And was part of a Hutchinson women’s group that gathered weekly for walks and/or shopping.
During her life, Audrey enjoyed her weekends at her campsite in Clearwater, hanging out at the lake, being outside working in her yard or garden. She loved shopping and was known for wearing whatever was the latest style. Audrey found joy in attending craft shows, eating ice cream, listening to music and dancing. She cherished spending time with her family and friends, going on golf cart rides, Christmas Day family bowling, or just gathering as a family. She was an amazing cook and baker, and was well known for her rigatoni, twice baked mashed potatoes and brownies with chocolate frosting. One of her fondest memories was taking her granddaughter, Amber Lankey trick-or-treating during Halloween.

Pastor Rick Stapleton says
Audrey trusted in the Lord Jesus for her eternal future, believing that God’s love for her saved her through Christ’s death on the cross for her. The fruit of her relationship with Christ was evident in her love for Jesus and His Word and the church family. The love of Christ in her life overflowed in joy and peace as she lived by faith in Christ. She will be missed but we know that our hope in the gospel of Jesus Christ promises a reunion in heaven! Praying for the family and friends as you grieve. God’s peace to you all.

Oh miss Audrey…. You will be so dearly missed by many.
Audrey was my husband and I’s old neighbor, and she was truly the best neighbor that existed in the world. Always so sweet and quick to say hello with that beaming smile on her face! Honestly her smile made life so much better, and those sweets that she would bake and bring over for us were so top notch. I will miss your sweet smile, and kind soul.
My thoughts and prayers to your family.

My thoughts are with Audrey’s loved ones. I worked with Audrey at Old Republic Title. She trained me in and took me under her wing. We had countless walks by the River. Lots of long conversations. Audrey was a very caring person. She was always smiling and willing to help you in any way she could. I’m happy to hear Audrey enjoyed her life in retirement. She deserved to be happy! Rest in peace. Love, Jessica

Dear Audrey,
I can’t believe this is really happening…..
You are a friend that wore her heart on her sleeve, worked hard, showed up for those in need and never forgot to keep going when times were hard.
I will never forget you and the fun times we had a Old Republic Title, jazzercise, lunches, and endless conversations about life.
But most of all, being my cheerleader, a dear friend that gave my family much needed support during difficult times.
May your family find peace in your memories of the Special Lady, you will always be in our hearts.
Until we meet again, God Bless you and your family.
