Obituary
Beate Margareta Reuber was born on January 2, 1946, in Kirchheim Kreis Würzburg, Germany. She was the daughter of Lothar and Babetta (Buchner) Arthen. Beate was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her catholic faith as a youth. She received her education in Würzburg, graduated in 1962 and attended a technical university to become a Medical Assistant to work at her father’s private medical practice.
On January 25, 1964, Beate was united in marriage to Bruce Reuber in Würzburg. This marriage was blessed with three daughters: Belinda, Beatrice, and Brigitte. Beate and Bruce shortly resided in Würzburg before relocating to Hector, Minnesota, stopping at the World’s Fair in New York City on their way. They shared 44 wonderful years of marriage prior to the passing of Bruce on January 30, 2008.
Beate was the President of Interstate Telcom Consulting Inc. and worked until her last day. Prior to founding ITCI with Bruce in 1981, they owned the Hector Variety Store and she worked as the Plant Manager of the manufacturing floor at Suttle Apparatus. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hector and taught Sunday School.
Beate was a very social person and could strike up a conversation with anyone and instantly become friends. She was a talented artist and would create one-of-a-kind drawings for birthdays. Beate enjoyed playing the piano and cooking for family. Frequent birthday requests were special dishes made by her! She also enjoyed gardening and creating beautiful floral arrangements. Beate liked going to local casinos and the occasional trip to Las Vegas, traveling with her children and grandchildren to Disney World and visiting family in Germany until Bruce’s passing. She had a passion for learning new things, past and present. Watching the History Channel was one of her favorite past-times. Beate also loved cats, took in many strays, her last one was named Maxi, and she enjoyed watching funny cat videos. She cherished spending time with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
