Obituary
Brian Reynold Severin was born on January 22, 1958, to Reynold Roy and Emilie Christine (Herber) Severin in Gaylord, and was a lifelong Gaylord resident. He was brought before the Lord in Holy Baptism as an infant and confirmed in his faith as a teenager at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord. He graduated from Gaylord High School in 1976. He started working for what is now Michael Foods at the age of 12.
Brian married Roxane Burns on December 12, 1981. They had three children, Shawna Lynn, Christopher Brian, and Jacob Edmund, and were later divorced.
Brian and Maritza Rojas were married on May 10, 2008. Brian has two grandchildren, Keith Severin and Landon Severin.
Brian loved his family, grandchildren and his motorcycle. He went riding with his son, Chris, often and talked openly about how he loved the freedom he felt on his cycle. Brian was an avid music lover and it was his love of music that compelled him to learn to play guitar and write songs. His favorite pastime was to spend a weekend up north at a friend’s cabin with one of his children. He was a man of his word, quiet, loving, loyal to a fault, forgiving, never asking anyone for anything. Brian was always there when you needed him and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his:
wife, Maritza Severin of Gaylord, MN;
children, Shawna Severin of Gaylord, MN,
Christopher Severin (Amy Wagner) of Arlington, MN, and
Jacob Severin of Waseca, MN;
grandchildren, Keith Severin and Landon Severin;
siblings, Lois (Dean) Langer of Maple Grove, MN, Joyce (Ben) Starks of Elton, MO, Bruce (Tina) Severin of New Ulm, MN, LuAnn (Bob) Clifford of Mantorville, MN, and Marc (Gretchen) Severin of Ham Lake, MN;
brother-in-law, Gary Magnuson of Hutchinson, MN;
step-children, step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Otto and Frieda Severin and Gottlieb and Katherine Herber; parents, Reynold and Emilie Severin; sister, Nancy Magnuson.
Randy langer says
Brian saved my mothers life twice by donating his bone marrow to my mom. I will forever be grateful to Brian for that.
