Byron Kohls, age 71, of Hutchinson, formerly of Brownton, Minnesota passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017, at the Hutchinson Health Hospital.
Memorial Services will be held Friday, May 19, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton. Interment will be held in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 18, 2017, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. and will continue Friday from 8:00 A.M. until the time of the service all at the church.
Obituary
Byron Edwin Kohls was born on January 17, 1946, in Glencoe, Minnesota. He was the son of Edwin and Augusta (Hardel) Kohls. Byron was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton, Minnesota. He received his education in Brownton, and was a graduate of the Brownton High School Class of 1964. Byron furthered his education at Brown Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota for two years.
On November 22, 1968, Byron was united in marriage to Donna Miller at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Plato, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with two children, Emily and Andy. Byron and Donna resided in several different areas including Hutchinson, Sumter Township and Brownton for 10 years. They moved back to Hutchinson in 2016. They shared 49 years of marriage together.
Byron worked at Fish and Game and Carly Hardel Plumbing and Heating. He was a plumber in Hutchinson and then was self-employed operating Kountryside Plumbing and Heating for about 3 years. Byron then worked at Plato Woodworking until he retired.
Byron was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton serving on various church boards including President, Treasurer, and Deacon. He was also a member of Brownton C & C.
Byron enjoyed wood working, reading and watching Sci-Fi movies. He especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters.
Byron passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017, at the Hutchinson Health Hospital, at the age of 71 years.

Andy Kohls and his wife, Leah of Buffalo, MN;
Grandchildren, Katie Troska and her fiancé, Tyler Goldsmith, Karleen Troska, Abby Kohls, Olivia Kohls, and Elly Kohls;
Brother, Jerome Kohls of Brownton, MN;
Mother-In-Law, Eldora Miller of Plato, MN;
Many other relatives and friends.
Byron is preceded in death by his Parents, Edwin and Augusta Kohls; Brother, Gerald Kohls; and Father-In-Law, Willmer Miller.
