Service Information
Carol Fredrickson, age 65, of Hector, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center in Buffalo Lake.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, December 16, 2019, at 12:30 P.M. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hector, with interment following in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the Hughes-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hector, and will continue on Monday at church for one hour prior to the service.
Obituary
Carol Mary Fredrickson was born August 10, 1954, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Rolla Otto and Irene (Wedll) Kumm. Carol was baptized on August 22, 1954, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Fergus Falls. She received her education in Buffalo Lake, and graduated from the Buffalo Lake High School with the class of 1973. Carol furthered her education at the Granite Falls vocational school for one year pursuing business/accounting.
Carol was united in marriage to Ronald Lee Fredrickson on August 17, 1974, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hector. Carol and Ronald made their home in Hector, and were blessed with one son, Mitchell Lee. Carol was the co-owner of Ron’s TV Shop in Hector for over 20 years. She also worked in manufacturing at Suttle in Hector and was a janitor at the Hector Schools until she retired in 2010. Carol and Ronald shared 45 years of marriage together.
Carol was an active member of the St. John’s Catholic Church in Hector. She never missed a Sunday Mass. She was a member of the C.C.W. and was also a member of the Hector American Legion Auxiliary. Carol enjoyed shopping and traveling. She was very active and enjoyed exercising. Carol especially loved her family and spending time with them.
When Carol needed assistance with her care, she became a resident at Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center on June 12, 2019. She passed away there on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, having reached the age of 65 years. She fought a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s for ten years. Blessed be her memory.

David Kumm and his wife, Cheryl, of Fairmont, MN,
Susan Gard and her husband, John, of Mitchell, SD,
Dan Kumm and his wife, Shirley, of Montevideo, MN;
Mother-in-law, Carolyn Fredrickson of Buffalo Lake, MN;
Many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her Parents, Rolla and Irene Kumm; Sister, Debra Carrow; Father-in-law, Ray Fredrickson; and Brother-in-law, Kenny Bemmels.
