Obituary
Caroline Bertha Krone was born on May 10, 1939, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Edward and Amanda (Modrow) Schutte. Caroline was baptized as an infant on June 21, 1939, by Pastor Klemp at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Corcoran Township and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on March 29, 1953, by Pastor Affeldt at Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elk River, Minnesota. She graduated from Elk River High School on May 31, 1957. After graduation she started her career at Hansord Pontiac in Minneapolis as a Payroll and Account Payable Clerk.
Caroline was united in marriage to Earl Krone on June 6, 1959, by Pastor Fred Photenbauer at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Corcoran Township. They were blessed with 64 years of marriage and one daughter, Cynthia Krone. After their marriage, the couple lived in Robbinsdale from June of 1959 to 1960 and then moved to Brooklyn Center until 1968. In 1968, they built a new home by Rogers on the farm. In 1972, Earl wanted to go full time dairy and hog farming, so they purchased a farm by Gaylord and still reside there. Caroline helped Earl on the farm and spent many years working for auto dealerships. She retired in June of 2006 from Waconia Ford Mercury as office manager and secretary-treasurer. Her previous employment included Brookdale Ford, Glencoe Ford Mercury, Broadway Chrysler, Plymouth and Hansord Pontiac King Dodge.
Caroline was a previous member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Maple Grove and St. Paul’s Lutheran in Hanover where she taught Vacation Bible School and Sunday School. She was a present member of American Lutheran Church in Gaylord and has taught Sunday School, was the past president of ALCW, on the Mission Endowment and funeral committees, and on the church council as an Elder.
Caroline enjoyed dancing, playing cards, bowling, vacationing and visiting family and friends. Caroline and Earl took trips to Europe, Alaska, Canada and many other U.S. States, and enjoyed going to Branson, Missouri, once or twice a year.
When she needed assistance with her care, Caroline became a resident of Bayside Manor in Gaylord on February 6, 2023, and passed away there on Monday, March 11, 2024, at the age of 84 years. Blessed be her memory.

Earl & Family
So sad to hear of Caroline’s passing. You both were great neighbors and friends of my Mom & Dad. When I visited the farm in these last years I always drove over the hill to check out your place as well. We haven’t talked or met for years but that doesn’t mean I have lost any memories of my life on the farm and you as great neighbors. Vicki has been gone for almost 5 years now but I know she is visiting with Caroline in Heaven. Rest In Peace Caroline

Earl and Cindy,
I am so sorry for the loss of your wife and mother. I was honored to “do” Caroline’s hair for a number of years, and greatly enjoyed visiting with her. She was always pleasant, and a joy to be with. You have my deepest sympathy. May she rest in eternal peace, and may you find consolation in Our Lord’s promise.
