Catherine Anne Hower

Obituary

Catherine Anne (Schroeder) (Lorenz) Hower was born on October 11, 1961, in Shakopee, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Allan and Eve (Mercuré) Schroeder. Catherine was a graduate of Cologne High School. Catherine enlisted in the United States Navy and was later Honorable Discharged.

Catherine was united in marriage to Duane Lorenz on May 14, 1986, in Shakopee, Minnesota.  The couple shared 23 years of marriage, before he passed away on July 22, 2009. She was a loving mother and homemaker.

In June of 2014, Catherine was united in marriage to Tim Hower at the City Park in New Auburn.

Catherine was employed as a Team Lead Assist at H.S.I. (Group Home) in Gaylord for the past three and half years. She also worked with several people with Autistic Disability.

Catherine was a member of Grace Bible Church in Silver Lake, and a past member of the New Auburn City Council. She served on the Economic Development Committee, and the Trail Committee. Catherine was also a member of the New Auburn Lions Club.

Catherine enjoyed fishing, hiking, camping, and cooking. She liked being around people. Catherine loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

Catherine passed away suddenly at her home in New Auburn on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at the age of 54 years. Blessed be her memory.

Siblings, Mike (Heidi) Schroeder of VA, D'vorah (Kevin) Edwards of Brainerd, MN, and Karen (Kelly) Moriss of Big Lake, MN;
Many Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.

Catherine was preceded in death by her Mother, Eve Mercuré; First Husband, Duane Lorenz; and her Grandparents.
