Conrad “Connie” Hausladen, age 66, of Lester Prairie, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017, at his home in Lester Prairie, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 13, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake, Minnesota, with interment following in the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Silver Lake, Minnesota.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 13, 2017, from 9:00-11:00 A.M., two hours prior the service at the church.
Obituary
Conrad “Con” Joseph Hausladen was born on March 13, 1950, in Wayzata, Minnesota. He was the son of Joseph and Hildegard (Remer) Hausladen. Conrad was baptized as an infant on March 19, 1950, and later was confirmed in his Catholic faith as a youth on June 9, 1958, both at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly, Minnesota. He received his education in Waverly, Minnesota, graduating with the St. Mary’s Catholic School Class of 1968. Conrad entered active military service in the United States Army on September 6, 1970, and served his country during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on June 14, 1971, then completed his obligation in the Army Reserve as a cook until honorably discharged on April 30, 1974.
On December 17, 1971, Conrad was united in marriage to Susan Houser at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Watertown, Lester Prairie and Silver Lake, Minnesota. Then in 2003, returned to Lester Prairie. Conrad and Susan’s marriage was blessed with four sons, Anthony, Jeremy, John and Matthew. They shared over 45 years of marriage.
Conrad worked at Lester’s Inc., Remer Construction, Littfin Lumber Company and RAM Buildings Inc. as a carpenter until 2007 when he retired. He was a member at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake, Minnesota. Conrad was also a member of the Lester Prairie Volunteer Fire Department from 1972-1978.
Conrad loved spending his time helping others, farm work, fishing, woodworking, camping, playing cards, Beno, 4 wheeling and making wine. He enjoyed the time spent with his family and friends, especially making sausage with his sons and grandchildren for the past few years.
Conrad passed away peacefully on Monday, January 9, 2017, at his home in Lester Prairie, Minnesota, at the age of 66 years, 9 months and 27 days.
