Obituary
Cyril Harold Brinkman was born on July 5, 1941, in Litchfield, Minnesota, to Harold and Emma (Ranzau) Brinkman. He was baptized on August 1, 1941, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Plato and was later confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gaylord. He graduated from Gaylord High School in 1959. Following graduation, he attended the University of Minnesota for one year before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. While in the Navy, he achieved the rank of Private E2 Aviation Electronics Technician and was honorably discharged in 1964.
Cyril married Adrieann Bierstedt on October 15, 1966, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gaylord. They eventually made their home on a portion of Cyril’s childhood farm outside of Gaylord. He and his brother, Bruce, farmed this land for many years. Cyril and Adrieann were blessed with four children; Todd, Troy, Tamara and Tanya. They shared 57 years of marriage.
Following his military service, Cyril was hired by Green Giant in Glencoe, where he worked for over 30 years, working his way up to the Engineering Department. He finished out his career as a Sales Engineer and then Project Manager for Food Systems Design in Bloomington where he spent much of his time traveling to many food processing plants throughout the United States.
Cyril was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gaylord. He served many years on the church council, as well as the cemetery board.
Cyril enjoyed spending his free time with family and friends at the lake, farming, gardening, hunting, doing crossword puzzles, and watching Wheel of Fortune.
