Service Information
Delores Evenson, age 85, of Hector, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson.
Funeral Service will be Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. at the First Lutheran Church in Hector, with interment in the Hector City Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 10, 2016, from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the Hughes-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hector, and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the Church on Wednesday.
Obituary
Delores Arlene Evenson was born to Frank and Minnie (Liske) Koepp on August 23, 1930, at her parents’ home in Acoma Township, McLeod County, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in her faith at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Acoma Township, McLeod County, Minnesota. She lived with her parents in the communities of Strout and Cedar Mills, Minnesota, and attended school in Acoma Township and Litchfield. She graduated from the Litchfield High School.
Delores was united in marriage to Marvin Evenson on March 26, 1950 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Acoma Township, Cedar Mills, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with their son Stanley “Butch,” and daughters Susan, Sharon, Sandy, Shelia, Stacey, and Sarah. She loved her role as homemaker and mother to their seven children. Delores and Marvin had shared 65 years of marriage when Marvin passed away on March 15, 2015. In August of 2015, after a short stay at the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center, Delores made her new home at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson.
Delores was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Hector, and was involved with W.E.L.C.A. She liked listening to gospel music. Delores enjoyed having coffee with friends, and playing cards with the neighbors. She liked visiting with family, especially the “kids.” She was a wonderful Mother, Grandma, and Great-grandma.
In the early morning hours of Saturday, May 7, 2016, Delores passed away at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson, having reached the age of 85 years. Blessed be her memory.

16 Grandchildren; 31 Great-grandchildren; 1 Great-great-grandchild;
Brother and Sister-in-law, Donald and Judy Koepp of Hutchinson;
Sisters-in-law: Shirley Osman of Bird Island, Irene Haun of Hector, Karen Combs of Battle Lake, Alice Tillman and Merry Silveson of Longview, Washington;
Nieces, Nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Delores was preceded in death by her Husband Marvin; Daughter Stacey Franzeen; Parents, Frank and Minnie Koepp; Son-in-law Don Lothert; Granddaughter-in-law, Athena Krueger; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Martin and Minnie Evenson; Sisters-in-law, Nancy Pennington and Charlotte Evenson; Brothers-in-law: Danny Osman, Richard Haun, Jerry Combs, Will Tillman, Ralph Silveson, Chuck Pennington, Jim Evenson, and Roger Evenson.
