Obituary
Dallas Lillian (Quast) Ehrke was born on December 12, 1929, in Lester Prairie, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Ewald and Mary (Dose) Quast. She was baptized as an infant on January 5, 1930, and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth on March 29, 1942, both at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, Minnesota. Dallas received her education at District #84 Country School and St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Parochial School in rural Lester Prairie, Minnesota.
On October 25, 1947, Dallas was united in marriage to Walter Ehrke by Pastor Walter Fischer at the parsonage of Evangelical and Reformed Church in Lester Prairie, Minnesota. Dallas and Walter made their home in Lester Prairie and Silver Lake, Minnesota. In 2012, Dallas moved to Orchard Estates in Glencoe, Minnesota. Their life was blessed with two daughters, Brenda and Bonnie. Dallas and Walter shared over 62 years of marriage until Walter passed away on July 27, 2010.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Dallas helped Walter on their dairy farm until 2004 when they retired. Dallas was an active member of Prairie Community Church in Lester Prairie. As her ministry to the church, she proudly served on the Women’s Guild. Dallas also was a member of Polka Lovers Klub of America (Po.L.K.of A).
Dallas enjoyed gardening, baking, traveling with Walter (annual trips to California and Washington plus a tour of Germany), crocheting, playing cards and listening and dancing to polka music.
