Obituary

Darla Anne (Litzau) Burandt was born on November 25, 1964, in Fort Chaffee, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Darrell and Donna (Erickson) Litzau. Darla was baptized as an infant in Arkansas and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, Minnesota. She received her early education in Laverne, Minnesota, and continued in Lester Prairie, Minnesota, and graduated with the Lester Prairie High School class of 1983.

On June 16, 1984, Darla was united in marriage to Howard Burandt at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. They made their home in Glencoe. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Elizabeth and Teddy. The couple went their separate ways after sharing 16 years together.

Darla lived in Glencoe, New Auburn, and the Gaylord area. Darla was employed in the bakery at Lee’s Supervalu in Glencoe. She was also employed at Anagram, a balloon manufacturer in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

When Darla was a young girl, she enjoyed going fishing. Darla loved all animals, but horses were by far her favorite. Most recently she enjoyed painting and drawing.

Darla passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025, at The Gardens at Winsted in Winsted, Minnesota, at the age of 60 years, 1 month, and 19 days. Blessed be her memory.
