Darlean Ann Brinkman, age 86, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at her home in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Private Family Service will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Friday, October 28, 2022, from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M., at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe.
Obituary
Darlean Ann Brinkman was born on February 21, 1936, to Arthur and Anna (Buckentin) Herrmann in Glencoe, Minnesota. She was baptized as an infant and confirmed in her faith as a youth both at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe. Darlean received her education in Glencoe and graduated from Glencoe High School with the class of 1954.
On November 12, 1955, Darlean was united in marriage to George Blake. Their marriage was blessed with one son, Jeffrey. The couple shared 6 years together until George’s passing on June 13, 1962. On March 2, 1968, Darlean was united in marriage to Donald Brinkman. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Mark, and Peggy Jo. They made their home in Glencoe, Minnesota. The couple shared 14 years together until Donald’s passing on September 16, 1982.
Darlean was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe as well as a member of the Glencoe VFW Auxiliary.
Darlean worked at the King Pin Pub in Plato, Minnesota for 48 years. She had the best of times while she worked and her friends would stop in to see her, roll some dice, and share in lots of memories and laughter. She looked forward to playing sheephead with friends as well. She enjoyed bowling with her league. Darlean loved to play bingo with her brother, Willis Herrmann, and sister-in-law, Lois Herrmann. Darlean truly cherished spending time at the family get-togethers, especially at Lake Andrews Resort where she had a camper for 45 years, she enjoyed telling old-time stories by the lake, sitting around the campfire, and making new memories with all of them. Throughout the years, Darlean would make frequent trips to Florida to visit her daughter, Peggy, and her family. Most recently, she stayed there for three months and celebrated her 86th birthday!
Darlean passed away on October 20, 2022, at the age of 86 at her home in Glencoe, Minnesota. Blessed be her memory. She will be dearly missed by so many… Rest in Peace Mom.

Children, Jeffrey “Jeff” Blake and his wife Teresa, of Alexandria, Minnesota,
Mark “Stoney” Brinkman of Glencoe, Minnesota,
Peggy Jo Brinkman Leon and her husband, Jorge, of Tampa, Florida;
Grandchildren, Bailey Blake, Isabella Leon, Kevin Leon and his significant other, Paula Gutierrez;
Great-grandchildren, Landon, Adalyn, Brooks, Lucia Leon;
Honorary Son and Daughter, Dean And Kris Vacek;
Siblings, Willis Herrmann, Larry Herrmann and his wife, Sandy, Jerome Herrmann and his wife, Margie;
Nieces and Nephews.
Darlean was preceded in death by her Parents, Arthur and Anna Herrmann; Husbands, George Blake and Donald Brinkman; Sisters-in-law, Lois Herrmann, and Tammy Herrmann; Granddaughter, Courtney Dunn.
