Darlene M. Thulin

Obituary

Darlene Mae (Eggert) Thulin was born on March 18, 1932, in Winthrop, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Harry and Violet (Schultz) Eggert. Darlene was baptized as an infant on April 2, 1932, in Winthrop, Minnesota, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on March 30, 1947, at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. She received her education at District #44 Country School and Hutchinson High School.

On November 1, 1950, Darlene was united in marriage to Raymond Nass at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. This marriage was blessed with three children, Steven, Loren and Jody.

On July 9, 1977, Darlene was united in marriage to Ralph “Larry” Thulin at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. They shared 23 years of marriage before Larry passed away on April 20, 2000.

Darlene was employed as a waitress at the Hutchinson Hotel and “Triple D” Bakery and Cafe and she also baked pies. Later she held employment as a Dietician at the Hutchinson Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 1988.

Darlene was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.

Darlene enjoyed baking, dancing, flowers, birds, crafts, playing bingo, Wii Bowling and being with friends. She volunteered at Burns Manor and the Senior Center. Darlene cherished the time she spent with her children, especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

When she needed assistance with her daily care, Darlene became a resident of Harmony River Living Center on December 5, 2105, and passed away there on Friday, September 9, 2016, at the age of 84 years.

Step Children, Burton Thulin and his wife, Phyllis,
                           Justine Wolters;
Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.

Darlene was preceded in death by her Parents, Harry and Violet Eggert; Husband, Ralph Thulin;  Step-Children, Ralph Junior (Sonny) Thulin, Deems Adair (Toby) Thulin, James Lloyd Thulin and Linda Louise Thulin.
