Obituary
Darrel Ervin Leske was born on November 8, 1940, in Martinsburg Township, Renville County, Minnesota. He was the son of Ervin and LaVonne (Bryan) Leske. Darrel was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith as a youth. He was a lifelong member of Zion United Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota. He received his education in Buffalo Lake, and was a graduate of the Buffalo Lake High School Class of 1958.
On June 8, 1963, Darrel was united in marriage to Ann Kemmerer at Zion United Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake. This marriage was blessed with four children, Dale, Dallan, Dana, and Danielle. Darrel lived the majority of his life on the family farm in rural Buffalo Lake, first as a youth and then with Ann after their marriage. In 1998, they built a home and moved to Buffalo Lake. They shared 60 years of marriage.
Darrel spent most of his life farming on the family farm with his father and then later by himself. After retiring from farming, he made deliveries for Buffalo Lake Home Bakery and then drove school bus for the Buffalo Lake/Hector School District until his retirement in 2008.
Darrel enjoyed woodworking, going on bus tours with Ann, annual trips to Duluth, playing Pinochle with the card club, and buying and trading new cars. He loved anything and everything to do with his grandchildren, especially watching them play sports. Darrel liked talking to people and loved sharing farming stories.

Anne and family, My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this hard time. I have many good memories of Darrel working for us at the bakery! He was one of our best employees! Always cheerful and would bend over backwards for the job. Our customers also enjoyed working with him. Please take comfort in knowing all the fond memories you get from everyone. I miss seeing them in church. Their pew is right behind mine. Lots of chit chat before service.
