David Kirkpatrick

Obituary

David A. Kirkpatrick was born on February 6, 1943, in Paynesville, Minnesota. He was the son of Edward and June (Thoms) Kirkpatrick.  David was baptized in Eden Valley, Minnesota.   He received his education in Eden Valley, and was a graduate of the Eden Valley High School Class of 1961. 

On April 21, 1964, David was united in marriage to Lynn Dillon at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Eden Valley.  This marriage was blessed with three children, Karen, Tracy, and Jill.   David and Lynn resided in Eden Valley until they moved to Hutchinson, Minnesota in 1967.  They shared 52 years of marriage.

David held employment at 3M in Hutchinson for 35 years.   He retired in 2000.  David was a member of Riverside Church in Hutchinson where he served as deacon and also participated in bible study.  

David enjoyed tending to his gardens and farming.  He also liked to go hunting and fishing.  David was a talented woodworker and loved working on various projects including his “Hillbilly Sheds.” He especially cherished the time he spent with his wife, children and grandchildren. 

David passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota at the age of 74 years. 

He will be dearly missed.  

David is survived by his:

Daughters, Karen Rigenhagen and her husband, Daryl of Hutchinson, MN,
                     Jill Mooberry and her husband, Mark of Springdale, AR;
Grandchildren, Brittany Malone and her husband, Rob, Kaitlin Gasper, and her husband, Josh, Luke Mooberry, Logan Mooberry, and Colton Mooberry;
Great Grandchildren, Bobby Malone, Jaydon Gaspar, Quinn Malone;
Mother, June Kirkpatrick of Watkins, MN;
Niece, Nephews, many other relatives and friends.

David is preceded in death by his Father, Edward Kirkpatrick; Son, Tracy Kirkpatrick; Great Granddaughter, Willow Malone.
