Obituary
Dean Edward Bemis was born on November 18, 1939, at home in Minnesota. He was the son of Glen and Viola (Thompson) Bemis. Dean was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith as a youth at First Lutheran Church in Cosmos, Minnesota. He received his education in Hutchinson, Minnesota, and later transferred to Cosmos High School where he graduated with the class of 1957.
In December of 1959, Dean was united in marriage to Patrica Yager at First Lutheran Church in Cosmos. This marriage was blessed with three daughters, Lorie, Wendy and Kristy. Dean and Patricia resided in Cosmos and Hutchinson, Minnesota. They shared 18 years of marriage until Patricia passed away June of 1978.
Dean was a dairy farmer north of Hutchinson, and a skilled carpenter in the area, working on many commercial buildings. He continued to do small projects in his retirement years.
Dean enjoyed traveling, woodworking, and doing glasswork. He also enjoyed taking trips to the casino, Friday night get togethers, playing cards, and gardening. Dean was proud to enter his flowers at the McLeod County Fair every year. He loved going to various car races and tractor pulls. Dean especially cherished time spent with his family and friends. I remember that it was about 1952 that I was in the hospital in Hutchinson with an eye problem and Dean was in the same room with me because of an injury that he had and he talked about how much that he love the new Farmall Super C that that they got. My father was a Farmall dealer in New Auburn Minnesota and that is why I remember the farmall story so well. I have thought about Dean many times over the years and was hoping that sometime that we could meet but it did not happen. Anyway I have a nice memory of him.

So many blessings. Dean painted my house in Hutch, the interior 3 shades of purple and green, and the exterior door the perfect color purple. He loved to drop by with fresh harvest veggies and share books he was reading. He always had a laugh and a joy to raise spirits. My love to Lorie and Kristi that I got to know and were kind generous friends, and Wendi. Special sweetness. I love you. Thank you. In fond memories, thank you
