Dean H. Fenske

Obituary

Dean Herbert Fenske was born on July 16, 1943, in Gaylord, Minnesota. He was the son of Herbert and Lillian (Messerli) Fenske. Dean was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his youth. He received his education in Winthrop and was a graduate of the Winthrop High School Class of 1961.

Dean served his country in the United States National Guard.

Dean was united in marriage to Mavis Harder on April 7, 1962. After their marriage, the couple farmed near Lafayette, Minnesota. This union was blessed with three children,  Darwin, David and Susan. Dean and Mavis shared 38 years of marriage when Mavis passed away on June 23, 2000.

Dean was united in marriage to Dzintra “Cindy” Schafer on December 13, 2008, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winthrop. After their marriage, the couple resided in rural Lafayette. Dean and Cindy shared 15 years of marriage.

Dean was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winthrop.

Dean enjoyed working on and restoring old tractors. He cherished the time he spent with family and friends.

When he needed assistance with his care, Dean became a resident of Gil Mor Manor in Morgan and passed away there on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at the age of 81 years. Blessed be his memory.

Great-grandchildren, Jayden Wassman, Miya Wassman, Renley Wassman, Aspen Fenske, Oakston Fenske, Hunter Lindmeyer, Ryker Lindmeyer, Raelynn Fenske, Anden Fenske;
Daughter-in-law, Lori Fenske;
Sister, Janice Peterson;
Brother, Dennis Fenske;
Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Dean was preceded in death by his Parents, Herbert and Lillian Fenske; Step-Father, Wilhelm Schrieber; Wife, Mavis Fenske; Son, Darwin Fenske; Daughter, Susan Fenske; Brother-in-law, Leon Peterson.
