Obituary
Debra Ann Mundt was born on October 20, 1951, in Hutchinson, MN. She was the daughter of Edward “Eddie” and Cleo (Richards) Karl. Deb was baptized as an infant at St. Anastasia’s in Hutchinson and later confirmed in her faith at St. Columban’s in Greenleaf, MN. She grew up on the family farm in Boon Lake Township, rural Stewart, MN. Deb attended District 38 School through 8th grade and was a graduate of Buffalo Lake High School, Class of 1969. Deb furthered her education at Beauty School in Bloomington, MN.
Deb met and later married Donald Mundt in 1972. The couple settled in Apple Valley, MN. This marriage was blessed with two children, Jennifer and Joseph. The family moved to Carver, MN, where Deb raised her children. The couple parted ways in 1995. Throughout her life, Deb worked various jobs, mainly in education and banking.
Deb loved spending summers at the cabin on Collinwood Lake with her family and friends. She enjoyed fishing and working on projects around the cabin. Throughout the year, she could often be found attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and musical activities. She was especially proud of her grandchildren. Deb was blessed to become a great-grandma in May 2022. She could not have been happier.
Deb took every opportunity to socialize, whether it was at meat raffles, birthday parties, card parties, or dances. It didn’t take people long to realize how special she was and want to be friends with her. After Deb retired, she began wintering in Florida where she made many more precious friends. She enjoyed girls' weekends, antiquing, and craft shows.
After a courageous battle with cancer, Deb passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024, at her home in Hutchinson, at the age of 72 years.
Blessed be her memory.
