Service Information
Delores Dietel, age 89, of Lester Prairie, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted, Minnesota.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 31, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, Minnesota, with interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 30, 2017, from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, Minnesota, and will continue one hour prior the service at the church on Friday.
Obituary
Delores Christine (Knacke) Dietel was born on July 12, 1927, in Bergen Township, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Edward and Lydia (Bathen) Knacke. Delores was baptized as an infant on July 27, 1927, by Rev. Arthur Spleiss and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on April 6, 1941, by Rev. E. Stahlke both at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, Minnesota. Her confirmation verse was Hebrews 10:23. Delores received her education in Lester Prairie, Minnesota, graduating from Lester Prairie Public School.
On August 16, 1947, Delores was united in marriage to Raymond “Ray” Dietel by Rev. R. A. Ritz at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. Ray and Delores made their home in Lester Prairie, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with three sons, Brad, Dale and Dan. Ray and Delores shared over 67 years of marriage, until Ray passed away on March 19, 2015.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Delores worked at Green Giant in Glencoe, Young America Corporation in Young America, and Telex in Glencoe. She was an active member at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, where she served on the LWML and was a Sunday school teacher. Delores was also a member of the Lester Prairie American Legion Auxiliary Post #463 and served as a past treasurer.
Delores enjoyed gardening, crocheting afghan blankets, baking and desserts, especially cinnamon rolls and butterscotch desserts. She loved to reminisce about the gold toilet they used for cards at their 50th Wedding Anniversary and when her entire family celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary at Rush Lake. Delores cherished the time spent with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Delores passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted, Minnesota, at the age of 89 years, 8 months and 16 days.

Dietel Famly. I am sorry to hear about your Mom’s passing. She was a wonderful woman that raised a great family.
