Delores Saar, age 93, of Hutchinson passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Prairie Senior Cottages in Hutchinson.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 19, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. at Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, with interment in the Oakland Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2017, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. and Thursday, January 19, 2017, from 8:00 to 9:00 A.M at the Dobratz-Hantge Chapel in Hutchinson and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Delores Ruth Saar was born on January 10, 1924, in Glencoe, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Anthony and Sophia (Zdrazil) Frieuf. Delores was baptized as an infant by a Congregational Minister in Hutchinson and was later confirmed in her faith in her youth as a Methodist in 8th grade. She received her education in Hutchinson, and was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School Class of 1942.
On February 25, 1947, Delores was united in marriage to Arthur Karl Saar, Sr. at Vineyard United Methodist Church in Hutchinson. This marriage was blessed with one son, Arthur K. Saar Jr. Delores and Arthur resided in Hutchinson. Delores and Arthur shared 54 years of marriage until Arthur passed away in 2001.
Delores and her son, Arthur owned and operated the Velvet Coach Supper Club for many years. She retired in 1992. Delores will be most remembered for her generosity and involvement in the community. She was a long time member of Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. She was also a member of The Women’s Club, the Hutchinson Rotary Club, and County Chairwoman for the Republican Party.
When Delores needed assistance with her daily care she became a resident of Prairie Senior Cottages in Hutchinson where she passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at the age of 93 years.

I remember Delores when her family owned the Velvet Coach. She was a fantastic hostess and alway treated me and my family as if we were her only customers. We’ll miss her and all the good talks we had together.
