Service Information
Dennis W. Laffen, age 66, of Hector, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hector, Minnesota, with interment in Hector City Cemetery in Hector.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Dennis Wesley Laffen was born on October 5, 1956, in Litchfield, Minnesota. He was the son of Wesley and Laverne (Pahlman) Laffen. Dennis received his education in Hector, Minnesota, and was a graduate of the Hector High School Class of 1975.
Dennis grew up on the family dairy farm and loved everything about farm life. He enjoyed taking care of the animals and being in the fields. After Dennis moved to Hector with his parents and one sister, he continued the farm life, working on the Broderius Family Farm. He loved driving the tractors, combines, and other machinery. During the fall, Dennis would drive the beet truck.
Dennis was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hector.
Dennis enjoyed snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, and refurbishing tractors. He also enjoyed driving the countryside on day trips with his sister, Nancy. Dennis looked forward to their visits with their other sisters, nephews, nieces, and their families. He also took many trips with friends up north and to Arizona.
As Dennis’s health declined, he moved to Olivia Restorative Therapy and Nursing. He enjoyed his time there for the last three years, and appreciated the kindness given to him from their staff.
Dennis passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota, at the age of 66 years.

Joel Burks of Roseville, MN;
Great-nieces and nephews, Caden Evers, Callie Evers, Keaton Evers, Amanda Hauge, Myron Hauge;
Many other relatives and friends.
Dennis is preceded in death by his Parents, Wesley and Laverne Laffen; Sister, Nancy Laffen.

I am so glad we went to see Dennis last June. A group of us from the class of 1975 were talking about getting together and visit him again. He seemed happy (maybe a bit terrified) to see us!

Diane and family: Dennis was such a quiet man but always a pleasure to visit with when I was working at the insurance agency. I lost one brother about 7 yrs ago and now another one on March 29th so I understand your loss. My sympathies to you and your family.
