Obituary
Donald Myron Loge was born July 23, 1926, in Blue Earth, Minnesota, the son of Louis and Josie (Lyon) Loge. He was baptized in August of 1926 at Shiloh Lutheran Church in Elmore, Minnesota, and was confirmed in his faith there on October 13, 1940. Donald grew up in the Blue Earth area where he graduated from the Blue Earth High School on May 29, 1944.
On June 27, 1948, Donald was united in marriage to Dorothy Ristau at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Elmore, Minnesota. They lived in Blue Earth and Bricelyn before making their home in Brookfield Township, rural Hector for the past 55 years. They were blessed with two children, Victoria and Bradley, and shared 67 years of marriage.
Don had a profound love of the land that he took care of. After he retired from farming the first time, he worked for the Cosmos School District as a bus driver, janitor, and groundskeeper. Even after he “retired” he continued to help Brad with spring and fall work through 2015.
Don was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hector. He liked to go fishing, work in the garden, play cards, and watch sports.
