Donna J. Becker, age 81, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Ecumen Oaks in Hutchinson.
Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 12:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at the McLeod County Fairgrounds Commercial Building in Hutchinson.
Interment was held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, in the Kimball Cemetery in Kimball, Minnesota.
Obituary
Donna Jean Becker was born on November 24, 1942, in Kimball, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Earnest and Harriet (Lackey) Ellis. Donna was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth. She received her education in Kimball, and was a graduate of the Kimball High School Class of 1960. Donna furthered her education at St. Cloud Beauty School.
On September 15, 1961, Donna was united in marriage to James “Jim’ Becker at Church of Christ Church in Kimball. This marriage was blessed with one daughter, Barbara. Donna and Jim resided in Kimball until moving to Litchfield, Minnesota. They shared 44 years of marriage prior to the passing of James on January 25, 2006. In 2021, Donna moved to Hutchinson to be closer to her family.
Donna was employed as a hairdresser at Liedman’s Beauty Shop in Kimball. After moving to Litchfield, she worked for the Litchfield School District as a school cook. Donna retired in 2010. She was a member of the Order of the Easter Star, Willmar Eagles Auxiliary, Litchfield Legion Auxiliary Post 104.
After retirement, Donna assisted with the Litchfield Toys for Tots Program, served as an Election Official, and assisted with serving meals at the St. Philips Catholic Church and the Methodist Church, both in Litchfield. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, and putting puzzles together. Donna especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.
Donna passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Ecumen Oaks in Hutchinson, at the age of 81 years.

Great-grandchildren, McKaiydence Sabelko, Kaiylohr Sabelko, Kahleeyah Thies, Kynlie Thies, Kary Thies, Keplyr Thies, Beckham Thies;
Sister-in-law, Jean Schultz of Minneapolis, MN;
Many Nieces, Nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Donna is preceded in death by her Parents, Earnest and Evelyn Ellis; Father, Claude Ellis; Husband, James Becker; Great-granddaughter, Kaiyliana Thies; Siblings, Lota Wiens and her husband, John, Sister-in-law, Jeanette Strom and her husband, Harold; Brothers-in-law, Roger Rokala, Richard Schultz; Niece, Lois Bacon; Nephews, Keith Wiens and Robert “Bob” Strom.

I used to work at Ecumen and whenever I’d see Donna she’d always strike up a conversation and we’d get to talking with each other. A very kind and sweet lady. So sorry for your loss.
