Dorothy Borth, age 79, of Fairfax passed away with her family by her side on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at the Sleepy Eye Medical Center in Sleepy Eye.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, May 15, 2021, 11:00 A.M. at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Fairfax with interment in the church cemetery at a later date.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be Saturday, May 15, from 9:00-11:00 A.M., all at the church.

Obituary
Dorothy Marie Borth was born on November 3, 1941, in Henryville Township, Renville County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Edward S. and Marie A. (Goblish) Wertish. Dorothy was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bechyn, Minnesota. She attended District 12 Country School and was a graduate of Danube High School.
On August 6, 1966, Dorothy was united in marriage to Daniel Borth of Fairfax, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bechyn, Minnesota. Dorothy and Daniel were blessed with two daughters, Danelle and Denise. Dorothy worked at Halliday Grocery in downtown Olivia for several years, as well at the Fairfax Community Home in the dietary department. They shared 44 years of marriage before Daniel passed away on February 1, 2011.
Dorothy was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Fairfax and was active in the Bandon Busy Beavers 4-H Club as head leader for many years. She was involved in the Kitchen Klatter Band, Ladies Aid, and sang in the St. Andrew’s Church Choir.
Dorothy enjoyed gardening, flowers, polka music, dancing, playing cards, games and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed growing a huge vegetable and flower garden and worked hard on the farm.
Dorothy was especially proud of receiving the Century Farm Award in 2019.
Dorothy passed away at the Sleepy Eye Medical Center with her family by her side listening to her favorite Christmas Carol, “Silent Night” on May 5, 2021, at the age of 79 years. Blessed be her memory.

Daughters, Danelle Borth and special friend, Ronald Lund of Fairfax, MN, and
Denise Bleick and her husband, Jeffrey of Eau Claire, WI;
Grandchildren, Emily Bleick and special friend, Dan Rue and James Bleick;
Brother, Edward H. Wertish Jr. and his wife, Theresa of Redwood Falls, MN;
Sisters, Roseanne Lee of Willmar, MN, Linda Sorensen and her husband, Gary of Brainerd, MN, Mary Enestvedt of Sacred Heart, MN;
Sister-in-law, Donna Wertish of Victoria, MN;
other relatives and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her Husband, Daniel Borth on February 1, 2011; Parents, Edward and Marie Wertish; Brother, Joseph Wertish in 2009; Brother-in-law, John Lee in 2014.
