She received her education in Elmore and was a graduate with the Elmore High School class of 1946.
On June 27, 1948, Dorothy was united in marriage to Donald Loge at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Elmore. This marriage was blessed with two children, Victoria and Bradley. Dorothy was a loving homemaker and took pride in helping Donald on the farm and taking care of Vicky and Brad. She could plow a field all day and have supper ready in the evening. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hector, Minnesota. Dorothy was active in all the women's organizations of the church. She held every office in the Ladies' aid/WELCA. She was a great mentor for women in the congregation.
Dorothy enjoyed cooking and baking for family and for church activities. She shared her talents heading up salad luncheons and ice cream socials numerous times. The church cookbook contains several of her wonderful recipes. The cookies she baked for the cookie walk were always in demand. Dorothy enjoyed playing cards and was a member of 500 and bridge clubs. She also enjoyed being with friends in her Birthday Club.
