Service Information
Douglas E. Lee, age 75, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020, at his home in Hutchinson.
Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2020, at 11:00 A.M. at Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson with interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2020, from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Military Honors by the Hutchinson Memorial Rifle Squad.
The Douglas Family invites everyone to a luncheon at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel following the service.
Obituary
Douglas Edward Lee was born on August 30, 1944, in Pipestone, Minnesota. He was the son of Harold Edward and Esther Marie (Weinkauf) Lee. Douglas was baptized as an infant and later confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Pipestone. He attended Pipestone public schools and later graduated from Pipestone High School with the class of 1963.
He entered active military service in the United States National Guard, on January 9, 1963, in Pipestone. He received an Honorable Discharge on May 16, 1969, in Pipestone, achieving the rank of E-6.
On August 17, 1973, Douglas was united in marriage to Patricia A. Maranell at Peace United Methodist Church in Pipestone. This marriage was blessed with two children, Trevis and Jennifer. Douglas and Patricia resided in Hutchinson, Minnesota. They shared 46 years of marriage.
Douglas was employed over the years at Lenneman Beverages in Hutchinson, Advance Machine in Spring Lake Park, Minnesota, Farmers Elevator in Hutchinson, and most recently, as a truck driver at McKimm Milk Transit in Hutchinson for 25 years.
In his retirement, he enjoyed reading books, working in word search books, watching western movies, visiting with people, sitting on his deck enjoying the outdoors, and riding his tricycle.
Douglas passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020, at his home in Hutchinson, at the age of 75 years. Blessed be his memory.

Great-Grandchildren, Sophia Jane Lee, Marvin Jay Runke, and Miles Douglas Runke;
Son from a previous marriage, James Douglas Lee and his wife, Lisa Marie, and their children Ben and
Bryce Lee of Aberdeen, SD;
Siblings, Gary Lee and his wife, Linda, of Watertown, SD,
Marsha Timm and her husband, Ed, of Elkton, SD,
Brenda Fenton and her husband, Kevin, of Ellsworth, MN;
Nieces, Nephews, and many other relatives and friends
Douglas is preceded in death by his Parents, Harold and Esther Lee; Brother, Dennis Lee.
