Duane Larson, age 84, of Litchfield, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016, at Meeker Manor Rehabilitation Center, in Litchfield.
Memorial Service will be held Thursday, July 28, 2016, at 11:00 A.M., at Beckville Lutheran Church, Greenleaf Township, Minnesota with interment in Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield, at a later date.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be Wednesday, July 27, 2016, from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M., and will continue one hour prior to the service ALL at the Beckville Lutheran Church.
Obituary
Duane Parker Larson was born on October 11, 1931, in Lake Park, Becker County, Minnesota. He was the son of Victor Sr. and Helen (Huseby) Larson. Duane was baptized as an infant, and later confirmed in his faith as a youth at Lake Park Lutheran Church, in Lake Park. He received his education in Lake Park, and was a graduate of the Lake Park High School Class of 1949.
Duane entered active military service in the United States Navy on January 6, 1951, in Bismarck, North Dakota, and served his country during the Korean War. He received the rank of EN2 (Engineman Second Class) and was honored with the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal (Two Stars), China Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. Duane received honorable discharge on October, 21, 1954, in San Diego, California.
On February 2, 1957, Duane was united in marriage to Audrey Heald, at Rindahl Lutheran Church in Underwood, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with four children, Gloria, Greg, Rob and Grace. Duane resided in Litchfield since 1971. They shared 59 years of marriage.
Duane owned and operated Hardware Hank and was the locksmith in Litchfield, retiring in 2009. Duane was a member of the VFW Post #2818 and American Legion Post #104, was past president of the Chamber of Commerce in Litchfield, and was a long-time member of the Rescue Squad. He was also a member of the Beckville Lutheran Church and served as a Council Member, Finance Secretary, Treasurer and taught Sunday school. Duane enjoyed traveling, fishing, and hunting. He cherished the time spent with his family and friends.
Duane passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2016, at Meeker Manor Rehabilitation Center in Litchfield, at the age of 84 years.

So sorry to here this! Duane will go to heaven as a saint in my book – funny story about being locked out of my house X2 one morning! He truly will be missed – Kelvin enjoyed visiting him with in church when I dragged Kelvin with me to Beckville! Our thoughts and prayers to Audrey and family at this difficult time.
