Edward “Eddie” Frank Jr., age 83, of Fairfax passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at the Sunwood Good Samaritan Society in Redwood Falls.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, June 20th, 10:00 A.M. at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Fairfax with interment in the church cemetery.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be Friday, June 19th, from 4:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax. There will be a Prayer Service at 4:00 P.M. Gathering of Family and Friends will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Military Honors by the Fairfax Honor Guard.
Obituary
Edward “Eddie” Eloy Frank Jr. was born on September 29, 1931, in Camp Township, Renville County, Minnesota. He was the son of Edward and Emma (Kockelmeier) Frank. Eddie was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth, both at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Fairfax. He received his education at St. Andrew’s Parochial School and was a graduate of the Fairfax High School Class of 1951.
Eddie entered active military service on February 27, 1953, and served his country in the United States Army as a cook with the 6th Infantry Division. He received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Eddie was Honorably Discharged on February 26, 1955.
On October 13, 1956, Eddie was united in marriage to Shirley Fenske at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Franklin. After their marriage, the couple resided on the farm in Camp Township. Eddie was a dairy farmer and loved being on his farm. Following his retirement, Eddie was a school bus driver for GFW for 10 years. They were blessed with the adoption of two children, Doug and Deb. Eddie and Shirley shared 58 years of marriage.
Eddie was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Fairfax and served on the Parish Council, former church president, was an usher and communion minister. He was also a former member of the Knights of Columbus.
Eddie enjoyed playing cards, camping, spending time with his family, especially his grandsons. He loved cheering for Trent each Sunday night at Redwood Speedway and shared the love of farming and the ability to fix anything with Travis.
Eddie became a resident of Sunwood Good Samaritan Society on June 6, 2015, and passed away there on June 16, 2015, at the age of 83 years. Blessed be his memory.

Wife, Shirley Frank of Fairfax, MN;
Daughter, Deb Loverude and her husband, Kevin of New Ulm, MN;
Grandsons, Travis Loverude of Fairfax, MN, and Trent Loverude of New Ulm, MN;
Sister-In-Law, Gretchen Ferrell and her husband, Charlie of Alamogordo, NM;
Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.
Eddie was preceded in death by his Parents, Edward and Emma Frank; Son, Douglas Frank; and six Siblings.
