Elaine Boldt

Obituary

Elaine Emma Boldt was born on May 12, 1923, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Herman and Ida (Maahs) Rannow.  She was baptized as an infant on June 10, 1923, in Lynn Township, McLeod County, by Pastor Heinrich Albrecht, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on April 10, 1938, at Friedens Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, by Pastor W. Schulze.  She attended school in the Hutchinson Public School through the eighth grade.

On October 22, 1944, Elaine was united in marriage to Reinhardt Boldt at Friedens Lutheran Church (now Peace Lutheran Church) in Hutchinson. This marriage was blessed with two daughters, Nancy and Brenda.  Elaine and Reinhardt resided and farmed in Boon Lake Township for 67 years.  They later moved to Hutchinson in 2000 following Reinhardt’s retirement.  They shared 70 years of marriage until Reinhardt passed away on August 27, 2014. Elaine later moved to The Oaks Assisted Living in Hutchinson, Minnesota in October of 2014.

Elaine was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She loved spending time in the kitchen baking. Elaine was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for her family. She also enjoyed dancing and listening to old time music. She was an incredible seamstress and you could always find her mending, sewing, quilting, or embroidering something.  Elaine loved lots of activities, but some of her favorites included, bowling, camping, traveling, playing cards and gardening. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many friends.

Elaine was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. She was an active member of Dorcas Club for many years

Elaine passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson, Minnesota, at the age of 93 years.

She will be dearly missed.

               Irene Rasmussen and her husband, Donald, of Hutchinson, MN;
Many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, other relatives and friends.

Elaine is preceded in death by her Spouse, Reinhardt Boldt; Parents, Herman and Ida Rannow; Brothers, Walter Rannow and Clarence Rannow; Sister, Verna Schmidt; Brothers-In-Law, Ernie Schmidt and Oscar Falling.
