Elda Huepenbecker, age 104, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 21, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Plato, Minnesota, with interment following at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ Cemetery in rural Plato, Minnesota.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 20, 2016, from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe, Minnesota, and will continue one hour prior the service at the church on Saturday.
Obituary
Elda Emma Minnie (Borchardt) Huepenbecker was born on April 30, 1912, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Richard and Anna (Rannow) Borchardt. Elda was baptized as an infant on June 16, 1912, by Rev. Strasburg and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth on October 25, 1925, by Rev. Carl Bucke both at St. John’s Church in Hassan Valley Township, Biscay, Minnesota. She received her education at District 30 country school in Hassan Valley Township thru the 8th grade.
On November 10, 1935, Elda was united in marriage to Raymond Huepenbecker by Rev. Bunge on Raymond’s family farm. Elda and Raymond made their home in Plato and Glencoe. Then in 2003, Elda moved to her daughter, Myra’s home in Richfield. For the last 8 years when Elda needed assistance with her daily care, she became a resident at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care in Glencoe. Their marriage was blessed with five children, Shirley, Charles, Leonard, Maynard and Myra. Elda and Raymond shared over 41 years of marriage until Raymond passed away on February 2, 1977.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Elda worked at Green Giant and was called “Granny” by the many children she babysat. She was an active member at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Plato. Elda enjoyed baking, embroidering, crocheting, gardening, flowers, traveling, trips to the casino and Minnesota State Fair and going out to eat. She loved the activities at Long Term Care which included the bell choir, bowling, baking, coloring, and playing bingo and when visitors came she loved to visit, play cards and the dice game - left, right and center. She treasured the time spent with her family and friends.
Elda passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care in Glencoe, Minnesota, at the age of 104 years and 17 days. Blessed be her memory.

Grandchildren, Ronald Raney, Diane Bushey and her husband, Brad, Kevin Raney and his wife, Monica, Gwen Raney, Julie Raney and her special friend, Jerry Kleinheksel, Lori Cole and her husband, Brian, Robin Peterson, Wayne Huepenbecker, Scott Huepenbecker, Chris Huepenbecker, Raymond Huepenbecker, Kyle Huepenbecker and his wife, Jessica, Todd Huepenbecker;
Granddaughter-In-Law, Liz Raney;

Elda was preceded in death by her Parents, Richard and Anna Borchardt; Husband, Raymond Huepenbecker; Son, Charles Huepenbecker and his wife, Dianne; Grandsons, Duane Raney, Danny Huepenbecker, Steven Huepenbecker, Curtis Huepenbecker; Brothers, Leo Borchardt, Richard Borchardt and his wife, Bernadine; Sister, Louise Huepenbecker and her husband, Ora; Daughters-In-Law, Margaret Huepenbecker, Joyce Huepenbecker; Son-In-Law, Troy Raney.
