Eleanor Redman, age 87, of Hector, passed away Monday, June 15, 2015, at the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center.
Public Visitation will be held Thursday, June 18, 2015, from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the Hughes-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hector.
Private Family Service will be held Friday, with interment in Hector City Cemetery.
Obituary
Eleanor Esther Redman was born October 17, 1927, in Glencoe, Minnesota, the daughter of Aaron and Winnie (Lavin) Weispfennig. She was baptized and confirmed at the Zion United Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake. Eleanor grew up in Buffalo Lake, and graduated from the Buffalo Lake High School 70 years ago.
On August 8, 1947, Eleanor was united in marriage to Glen Redman at the Zion United Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake. They lived in Buffalo Lake prior to making Hector their home. They were blessed with nine children. Eleanor and Glen shared almost 33 years of marriage before Glen passed away May 31, 1980. Eleanor continued to live in Hector until she moved into the Assisted Living at the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center in 2014.
Eleanor was a loving homemaker. She also worked as a cook in restaurants in Buffalo Lake, and at Green Giant in Glencoe. A member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hector, Eleanor was active with the women’s group W.E.L.C.A.
Eleanor kept busy gardening, canning, and cooking. She loved her children and grandchildren. She liked to play solitaire, too.
On Monday afternoon, June 15, 2015, Eleanor passed away at the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center, having reached the age of 87 years, 7 months, 28 days. Blessed be her memory.
Eleanor is survived by her: children: Ron Redman and wife Marge of Hector, Debbie Reckow of Hector, Gary Redman and wife Janis of Spooner, Wisconsin, Jerry Redman of Hector, Roxanne Kisling and husband Pete of Le Sueur, Todd Redman and wife Sharon of Hector, Ross Redman of Hector; grandchildren: Chad Pfarr, Dan Torgeson, Donald Torgeson, Lisa Ehlers, Michelle Hart, Donnie (Susie) Nussbaum, Jamie (Perry) Kyser, Jessica Kisling, Vanessa Kisling; many great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, William Krentz of Buffalo Lake; other relatives, and friends.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband Glen, Son Neil, Daughter Diane, two brothers, and two sisters.
