Elizabeth “Betty” Hoff

Obituary

Elizabeth "Betty" Elsie Hoff was born on February 18, 1930, in Hutchinson Township, McLeod County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of John and Olga (Klapotz) Christensen. Betty was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her faith  as  a youth  at  Faith  Lutheran  Church  in  Hutchinson.  She  received  her education in Hutchinson and was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School Class of 1948. 

On June 8, 1950, Betty was united in marriage to David Hoff at Main Street Lutheran Church (now Faith Lutheran Church) in Hutchinson. This marriage was blessed with three children, Susan, Steven, and Nancy. David and Betty resided and farmed in Acoma Township, McLeod County, Minnesota. They shared 59 years of marriage, until David passed away on August 22, 2009. After David passed, Betty remained on the farm for a time before moving to Prince of Peace and Harmony River. 

Betty was a homemaker and worked part time at Carson's Clothing in Hutchinson and other ladies clothing stores for many years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Acoma Township. 

Betty enjoyed tending to her gardens and canning pickles and tomatoes. She was an avid reader and could usually be found reading the afternoon away. She cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. 

In September 2016, Steve and Mary Jo welcomed Betty into their home and that is where Betty passed away on Apri1 26,  2017, in Acoma Township, McLeod County, Minnesota at the age of 87 years.
