Service Information
Elsie E. Gerholz, age 94, of Gaylord, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Bayside Manor in Gaylord.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, January 11, 2025, 11:00 A.M., at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gaylord, with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 A.M., two hours prior to the service, all at the church.
Obituary
Elsie Esther Gerholz was born on May 5, 1930, in Arlington Township, Sibley County, Minnesota, to parents John and Alma (Quast) Pomplun. Elsie was baptized and later confirmed in her faith. Elsie received her education in Sibley County.
Elsie was united in marriage on April 22, 1951, to Aloys August Gerholz. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Sibley Township. She enjoyed her time on the farm in Sibley Township. She raised chickens and sold eggs.
Elsie enjoyed working in her garden and caring for the calves. Her favorite tractor was a Farmall Super M and her two-bottom plow, and later moved up to a IH1086. Her and Aloys moved to Gaylord in 1989. She made several farm visits to her homeplace the past several years. Elsie’s past time included crocheting, quilting and embroidery.
When she needed assistance with her care, Elsie moved to Oak Terrace Health Care Facility, where she resided. She continued her crocheting, enjoyed visits from family and friends and continued her faith at Oak Terrace. Elsie passed away at Bayside Manor (formerly Oak Terrace) on Friday, January 3, 2025, at the age of 94 years. Blessed be her memory

Children, Howard Gerholz and his wife, Michelle of Kenyon, MN,
Dale Gerholz and his wife, Cynthia of Gaylord, MN, and
Randy Gerholz and his wife, Linda of Gaylord, MN;
Many grandchildren and great grandchildren;
Brother, Erwin Pomplun of Gaylord, MN;
Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Elsie was preceded in death by Spouse, Aloys Gerholz; Parents, John and Alma Pomplun; Brother, Marvin and Evelyn Pomplun; Sister, Lucille (Pomplun) and Elmer Soeffker; Nieces and Nephews.
