Elsie Schulz

Obituary

Elsie Bertha (Lindeman) Schulz was born on August 27, 1928, in Penn Township, McLeod County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Herman and Elsie (Becker) Lindeman. Elsie was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her Lutheran faith as a youth. She received her education at a small country school in Penn Township.

On September 22, 1946, Elsie was united in marriage to Elmer Schulz at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton, Minnesota. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Transit Township. She helped Elmer on the farm and was employed as a nurse’s aide at the Gaylord Hospital and Lakeview Nursing Home for more than 20 years. Elsie was a loving mother and homemaker. Elsie and Elmer were blessed with four children. They shared 70 years of marriage.

Elsie was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mountville in Dryden Township and the Ladies Mission Society.

Elsie enjoyed gardening, canning, fishing, needlework and playing cards. She cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

When she needed assistance with her daily care, Elsie became a resident of Oak Terrace Assisted Living on May 1, 2015, and passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at Oak Terrace Health Care Center at the age of 88 years. Blessed be her memory.

grandchildren, Tim Schulz, Jonathan Schulz, Robert Schulz, Susan Schulz, Kimberly Hoosline and her husband, Jacob, and Patrick Honl and his wife, Nicole, Paul Anderson, and Jay Anderson;
7 great-grandchildren;
sisters, Verona Katzenmeyer, and Mary Ann Schatz and her husband, Clarence;
brother, Lester Lindeman;
sisters-in-law, Lillie Lindeman, Donna Reinitz;
many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Elsie Lindeman; sisters, Irene Bembenek, Ella Neubarth, Rufina Henke, Ada Wendlandt, Elva Wendlandt; and brothers, Art Lindeman and Willmar Lindeman.
