Ethel Hardel, age 86, of Brownton, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2015, at her home at Grand Meadows in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 8, 2015, 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton, Minnesota, with interment following in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 7, 2015, from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton, Minnesota, and will continue one hour prior the service at the church on Tuesday.
Obituary
Ethel Alice (Lindeman) Hardel was born on December 18, 1928, in Penn Township, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Alfred and Anna (Draeger) Lindeman. Ethel was baptized as an infant on January 13, 1929, and was later confirmed in her faith on May 10, 1942, both by Rev. W. E. Diemer at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Penn Township, Minnesota. She received her education in Brownton, Minnesota, and was a graduate with the Class of 1946.
On September 4, 1949, Ethel was united in marriage to Carl Hardel at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Penn Township, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Brownton. Ethel and Carl were blessed with three children, Carol, Bonnie and Thomas.
While attending High School, Ethel began her career by keeping the books at school and upon graduating took those skills to the New Auburn Creamery. After marrying Carl, she worked closer to home and later joined her husband at the Brownton Hardware that they owned together. Ethel was a member at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton, Minnesota. She was also a member of the Edward Ewald American Legion Auxiliary Post #143 in Brownton, Minnesota, for 65 years.
Ethel enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, reading, working puzzles, fishing and old time music. In everything she did, she did it with purpose.
Ethel passed away on December 4, 2015, at her home at Grand Meadows in Glencoe, Minnesota, at the age of 86 years, 11 months and 16 days.
