Obituary

Eugene Charles Litzau was born on May 27, 1934, in Glencoe, Minnesota. He was the son of Paul and Edna (Scheidegger) Litzau. Eugene was baptized as an infant in June of 1934 and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth, both at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe. He received his education at District #65 Country School and his GED in the Army.

On October 16, 1956, Eugene entered active military service and served in the United States Army. He achieved the rank of SP4-E4. Eugene received the Marksman (Rifle Cal 30) Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was Honorably Discharged on October 31, 1962.

On August 11, 1956, Eugene was united in marriage to Wanda Rohrbeck at St. Matthew’s United Church of Christ in Forest City, Minnesota. After their marriage, the couple resided in Glencoe. Eugene and Wanda were blessed with three children, Lynne, Eugene Jr., and William. They shared 65 years of marriage.

Eugene was a member of the Church of Peace in Glencoe.

Eugene enjoyed camping and doing the repairs on the family vehicles. He cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
