Eugene Precht

Obituary

Eugene Alfred Precht was born on August 23, 1938, in Osceola Township, Renville County, Minnesota. He was the son of Alfred and Rose (Heller) Precht. Gene was baptized as an infant at St. John Lutheran Church in Osceola Township, and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hector. He attended grade school to 6^th grade at Osceola Township public school. Gene served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1963, and was in the Reserves until 1968.

On June 13, 1964, Gene was married to Renee Suzanne Lade. Their marriage was blessed with one child, their son, Quint Precht. Eugene made his living doing what he loved. He called himself a food production engineer… he was a farmer. Eugene and Renee took over the farm that Eugene was raised on and made it their home for 52 years.

Gene’s hobbies included collecting shot glasses and stones, and enjoyed making things with his stones. He enjoyed sharing his stones and the things he would make with them. He had a great sense of humor, and liked to joke around. He enjoyed children, and hired many of the area youth to help on the farm. He loved dogs, especially his co-pilot Baxter. Eugene enjoyed his grandchildren – Victoria, Riley, and Savannah, and would always give a high five or knuckles when saying goodbye.

On Saturday evening, February 18, 2017, Eugene passed away at home, with his family by his side. He had reached the age of 78 years. Blessed be his memory.

Wife, Renee Precht, of Hector;

Son, Quint Precht and his wife, Cathy, of Hutchinson;

Grandchildren, Victoria, Riley, and Savannah;

Brother, Lester Precht and his wife, Myrt, of Bird Island;

Sisters, Caroline Lade and her husband, Eugene, of Buffalo Lake, and
             Diane Hemmingsen and her husband, Jim, of Sanborn;

Sister-in-law, Christine Precht of Parkers Prairie;

nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Gene was preceded in death by his Parents, Alfred and Rose Precht, Sister Florence Nelson and her husband, Brother-in-law Francis Nelson, Brother Elmer Precht, Niece Corrine Nelson, and Nephew Matthew Precht.
