Evelyn Rannow

Obituary

Evelyn Minnie Rannow was born on March 21, 1920, in Lynn Township, McLeod County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Robert and Ida (Kohls) Schlueter. Evelyn was baptized April 18, 1920 and was confirmed in her faith May of 1935 both at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills, Minnesota. She received her education at District 38 and St. John’s Parochial School in Cedar Mills.

On June 1, 1941, Evelyn was united in marriage to Sidney Rannow at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills. This marriage was blessed with five children, four girls and one son. They resided in Hutchinson. They shared 65 years of marriage until Sidney passed away on April 27, 2007.

Evelyn was a homemaker, a loving and caring wife, a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be dearly missed.

Evelyn was a long time member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.

Evelyn enjoyed gardening, canning, making crafts and embroidering. Evelyn also enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, and watching sports, soap operas, and church services on the television. She loved her Kitty.

When Evelyn needed assistance with her daily care, she became a resident of Cedar Crest Estate in Silver Lake on July 8, 2013. She passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017, at the Hutchinson Health Hospital, at the age of 97 years.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her Parents, Robert and Ida Schlueter; Husband, Sidney Rannow in April of 2007; Sisters, Freda Wendorff and her husband, Emil, Lena Garberich and her husband, Roland, Agnes Dettmann and her husband, Clarence; Brothers, Edwin Schlueter and his wife, Helen, Arnold Schlueter and his wife, Joyce, and George Schlueter in infancy; Grandsons, Terry Benjamin and Kelly Peterson; and Sons-In-Law, Glenn Anderson and Lloyd Johnson.
