Obituary
Faye Irene Miller was born on January 31, 1941 in Lester Prairie, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Ben and Jenella (Adams) Rolf. Faye was baptized as an infant on February 23, 1941, and later confirmed in her faith as a youth on May 30, 1954 at First Lutheran in Glencoe, Minnesota, and was a graduate of Glencoe High School Class of 1958.
In the summer of 1956, Faye met Herman Miller at the McLeod County Fair. On November 21, 1959 they were married at First Lutheran Church in Glencoe. This marriage was blessed with three children, Kevin, Mark and Nancy. Faye and Herman resided and farmed in Penn Township in rural Brownton, Minnesota. They shared 56 years of marriage until Herman passed away on August 14, 2016.
Faye felt fortunate to be a farm wife and mother. She was able to be home with her children until 1985. Faye then started working at the Hutchinson K-Mart and became their human resource manager. After a short retirement, she worked for a few more years at Young America Corporation. She made many friends at her jobs.
Faye was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Brownton. She taught Sunday school when her children were young, and she was a member of the Ladies Aid. She was a strong believer that Christian missions began at home. This was evident in her support of the wonderful children's mission through Noah's Ark Preschool.
Faye wanted to instill many things in her family. The importance of having a relationship with God, knowing when to say you are sorry (and mean it), how to waltz and polka, to cook, to garden and can food, the art of clipping a good recipe and to identify birds, trees and flowers. Faye felt it was our duty to support church, community and schools.
Faye was so thrilled to be a grandmother to eight grandchildren and two sweet great-grandsons. She liked to attend their activities, celebrate their accomplishments, play games, chat with them to catch up on what they were doing and share so many giggles.
Faye and Herman were exceptional conversationalists. They truly enjoyed talking to people and making connections. They especially enjoyed this time with their family and lifelong friends.
Faye valued the time spent around the kitchen table at the farm. It was a space where we gathered as a family. We tried to solve problems, share meals, played games (especially what we fondly call the "Brownton game"), had so many laughs, enjoyed cocktails and most of all took the time to sit down to talk to each other - there at the farm kitchen table.
Herman and Faye enjoyed traveling especially to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and Madeline Island, Wisconsin; however, they loved their time at the home farm place as well. A treasured favorite would be a ride to the prairie where Herman would pick her flowers or a leisurely afternoon on the patio with a good margarita.
Faye moved from the family farm to the Ecumen Pines in Hutchinson, Minnesota in August of 2023. She passed away there on Thursday, March 5, 2026. Faye liked to visit with everyone there. The family appreciates the extra care they provided for her, especially the last few months.
Blessed be her memory.

John Rivers says
Faye was one of my classmates from the class of 1958 and she was a very nice person. The first time I met her was in our freshman year of high school 1954 when we had assigned seating in the auditorium by order of the alphabet and she sat next to me and I thought she was pretty nice. Later in 1956 I had a date with her but later she got hooked up with a guy that turned out to be her husband. These are wonderful memories of the fifties that people wish they could go back to or live. I feel bad that I will not be able to attend the funeral.
