Obituary
Florence Eischens was born on June 20, 1929, on the family farm south of DeGraff, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Clarence and Mildred (Anderson) Payne. She received her education at the Country School through the 8th grade in the area where she grew up.
Florence was united in marriage to Clarance Eischens on July 14, 1947, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Montevideo, Minnesota. Father Colbert, a friend of the family, officiated the wedding. This union was blessed with 7 children, Colleen “Connie”, Steven, Michael, Margaret “Peggy”, Dennis, Mary, and Kathy. Florence and Clarance shared over 62 years together when Clarance passed away on October 15, 2009.
Florence and Clarance farmed together in Montevideo and Glencoe. In 1967, they decided to purchase and operate the Dairy Queen in Zumbrota, Minnesota. In 1970, the couple moved back to the Eischens Family Farm just north of Glencoe, Minnesota. In 1991, they retired to Pine River, Minnesota, and lived there for a few years before returning to the family farm.
Florence was a long-time member of the Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe. Florence enjoyed traveling with her husband, family, and friends. Florence also enjoyed going fishing, and she looked forward to tending to her gardens, canning, and baking. Time spent visiting with family, neighbors, and with friends was time well spent.
Florence passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson at the age of 94 years, 10 months, and 24 days. Blessed be her memory.
