Frances Hoese, age 96, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away Monday, April 27, 2020, at her home at Grand Meadows Senior Living in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Private Family Graveside Service will be held at the Glencoe City Cemetery in Glencoe, Minnesota.

Obituary
Frances Agnes Hoese was born on October 17, 1923, in Portland, Oregon. She was the daughter of Fredrick “Fred” and Olga (Berwald) Gongoll. Frances was baptized in her Lutheran faith on January 6, 1924, by Rev. Reisbauch in Portland, Oregon and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth on March 21, 1937, by Rev. E. Schwandt at Zion Lutheran Church in Mayer, Minnesota. Her confirmation verse was Psalm 111:10. Frances received her education in Watertown, Minnesota, graduating with the Watertown High School Class of 1941. She furthered her education by attending Bethesda School of Nursing in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1942 and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1945.
On December 7, 1946, Frances was united in marriage to Leonard Hoese by Rev. Schwandt at Zion Lutheran Church in Mayer, Minnesota. Frances and Leonard made their home in Glencoe, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with one son, Stephen. Frances and Leonard shared over 48 years of marriage until Leonard passed away on December 27, 1994.
Frances worked at the Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul, Watertown Hospital in Watertown and Glencoe Hospital in Glencoe as a nurse for 36 years retiring in 1989. She was a charter member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, where she was a member of LWML and the altar committee. Frances also volunteered at the Glencoe Hospital and Long Term Care for 25 years and was a member of the Glencoe American Legion Auxiliary Unit #95.
In Frances’ younger years she enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening and traveling. She loved volunteering at the hospital, playing cards, attending ladies guild and bible study. Frances cherished the time spent with family and friends.
The Lord called Frances out of this world to eternal life on April 27, 2020, at her home in Grand Meadows Senior Living in Glencoe, Minnesota, at the age of 96 years, 6 months and 10 days.

Step Sister, Mary Moore of Delano, MN;
Sisters-In-Law, Dolores Hoese of Mayer, MN,
Elaine Hoese of Waconia, MN,
Marjorie Hoese of Waconia, MN;
Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and her many friends.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick and Olga Gongoll; Husband, Leonard Hoese; Sister, Lois Plocher and her husband, Gordon; Brothers, Harold Gongoll, Earl Gongoll and his wife, Joan, David Gongoll and his wife, Evelyn; Brothers-In-Law, Oswald Hoese, Wallace Hoese, Edward Hoese.

Steve – So sorry to see that your mom passed away. She was an awesome lady, and I feel so blessed to have worked with her. I learned so much from her, and revered her so highly as an RN. I did get to see her quite frequently at Grand Meadows, until the quarantine took affect, and I so enjoyed to visit with her. She will be missed there. Prayers and hugs!!
