Frances Plath

Obituary

Frances Johanna Augusta (Klitzke) Plath was born on August 28, 1928, at her parent’s home in Fernando, rural Stewart, Minnesota.  She was the daughter of Ervin Sr. and Hilda (Dressler) Klitzke.  Frances was baptized as an infant and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth both at St. Matthews Church in Fernando, Minnesota.  She received her education at the Fernando Township School District #37.

On September 15, 1947, Frances was united in marriage to Arnold Plath at Grace Lutheran Church in Brownton, Minnesota.  Frances and Arnold made their home in various places in the Brownton and Hutchinson area.  After Arnold died, Frances moved to Glencoe and has lived there for over 20 years.  Their marriage was blessed with five children, Duane, Jeanne, Steven, James and Debra.  Frances and Arnold shared over 40 years of marriage together until Arnold passed away on July 11, 1988.

In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Frances worked at Fingerhut and Telex before retiring in 1993.  She was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church in Brownton, Minnesota, where she was involved in the bible study and a WELCA member.  Frances was also a member of the Brownton American Legion Auxiliary Post #143 in Brownton.

Frances enjoyed the devotions at Long Term Care, quilting, embroidering, reading, playing bingo and cards, fishing and watching sports including the Minnesota Twins.  She also loved spending time at Browns Resort on Long Lake.  Frances treasured all the moments she spent with her children, grandchildren, their families and her friends.

Frances passed away on November 30, 2016, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care in Glencoe, Minnesota, at the age of 88 years, 3 months and 2 days.
