Obituary

Friedubert “Bert” Hugo Bleick was born on July 24, 1937, in Fairfax, Minnesota. He was the son of Ellsworth and Selma (Bethke) Bleick. Bert was baptized on August 22, 1937 and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fairfax. He received his education in Fairfax and was a 1955 graduate of the Fairfax High School.

Bert was Honorably Discharged from the Army National Guard of Minnesota as a reserve of the Army on November 13, 1963 after serving 8 years.

On August 17, 1963, Bert was united in marriage to Delores Beich at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stewart. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Cairo Township, Renville County, MN and later moved into the city of Fairfax where they lived for the past 25 years. Bert was still helping two of his son's on the family farm.

Bert was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fairfax and was past President of the church council; served as a Trustee and a member of the choir. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #205 in Fairfax; Past President of the Fairfax Farmers Elevator and the Renville County Dairy Association, and enjoyed many years of coaching his sons' softball teams during their years in 4-H.

Bert was always there for his children. He was a hardworking dairy farmer. Bert enjoyed playing cards, 500, pinochle, and snozzle, card parties, bowling, and dancing. He loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Bert passed away on Monday, December 7, 2015, at the Glacial Ridge Health System in Glenwood at the age of 78 years. Blessed be his memory.

Grandchildren, Mikaela, Madeline, Mylaney, Maxwell, Mason and fiancée, Jamie Laabs, Eve, Quinn, Halle, Olivia, and Drew Bleick;

Siblings, Sharleen Kiecker and her husband, Emery of Burnsville, MN, and Allen Bleick and his wife, Marsha of Powder Springs, GA;

Sisters-In-Law, Dawn Bleick of Fairfax, MN, and Bev Ersfeld and her husband, Ron of Farmington, MN;

Brother-In-Law, Donnie Beich and his wife, Janice of Stewart, MN;

Other Nieces, Nephews and relatives.

Bert was preceded in death by his Parents, Ellsworth and Selma Bleick; Parents-In-Law, Louis and Francis Beich; Brother, Charles “Red” Bleick; and Brother-In-Law, Deloren Beich.
