Service Information
Garry D. Whitaker, age 63, of Norwood, Minnesota, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021, at Good Samaritan Society in Arlington, Minnesota.
Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 3, 2021, 6:30 P.M., at the Paul-McBride Funeral Chapel in Norwood Young America, Minnesota, with interment at a later date at Mau Cemetery in Norwood Young America.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Friday, December 3, 2021, from 4:00 – 6:30 P.M., two and half hours prior to the service at the chapel.
Obituary
Garry Dean Whitaker was born on December 30, 1957, in Pipestone, Minnesota. He was the son of Larry and Berniece (Trigg) Whitaker. He graduated with the Norwood Central High School class of 1976.
Garry made his home in Norwood Young America, Minnesota. Garry worked at Lind’s Supper Club, Bongard’s Creamery, and various other occupations which included delivering the “Gold Miner” and “The Advertiser” for a number of years. Garry was a member of the Church in the Maples/United Methodist Church in Norwood Young America.
Garry enjoyed playing sports and watching high school, college, and professional sports. He especially liked attending Minnesota Twins games, Minnesota North Star hockey games, and spending time at Canterbury Downs watching the horse races. He cherished the time he spent with his family and friends, including the staff at the Good Samaritan Home in Arlington, the staff at Water’s Edge, and the staff at the Waconia dialysis clinic.
When Garry needed assistance with his daily care he became a member of the family at Good Samaritan Home in Arlington, Minnesota. Garry passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021, at Good Samaritan Home in Arlington, Minnesota, at the age of 63 years.

Donald Whitaker and his wife, Lisa;
Sister, Terry Reinitz and her husband, Robert;
Aunts, Phyllis Trigg, Jean Trigg, Darlene Meyer;
Uncle, Bob Trigg and his wife, Lorraine;
A niece, nephews, and other relatives and many friends.
Garry is preceded in death by his Parents, Larry and Berniece Whitaker; Brother, Steven Whitaker; Grandparents, Archie and Elva Whitaker, Lenzy and Anna Trigg; Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
